Doriana Forleo – Communications and Events Director

Passionate about communications and fascinated by technology, Doriana joined CLERENS Communications and Events department in 2017, and now she is the department director. She has been working on communications projects and events in a wide range of fields, including energy storage, waste management, circular economy, and urban development. She has extensive experience in event management and is a certified online meeting designer.

Doriana has an academic background in International Relations and Sustainability and a sound experience with event management and traditional and digital communications. She is Italian and speaks English, French and German.

Fatima Ahmed – Consultant

Fatima joined CLERENS in 2023 as a Communications Consultant. Over the past few years, she has honed her marketing and communication skills while working at EU and global levels. In addition to creating professional content, she also prepared impactful communications strategies. She is also a social media analyst, and has a keen eye for evaluating and reporting on online performance, as well as being creative and innovative, always on the lookout for the latest trends.

Fatima speaks English (native), Tigrinya, which is a language from an indigenous region in Ethiopia and Eritrea, Arabic (proficient) and beginner-level French. She has an academic background in International Relations and Journalism and Media, and in her free time, she enjoys hiking, travelling, and working on her nutrition blog.

Elizaveta Kuzmina – Consultant

Elizaveta supports the communication activities for EU-funded projects since January 2023. She joined the CLERENS team as Communications and Events Assistant in June 2022 when she worked for the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA). Previously, she worked as a Marketing Advisor and Event Manager Assistant in both public and private sectors.

Elizaveta holds Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. She is passionate about Digital Marketing, Social Media, and SEO, which led her to study “Strategies of Digital Marketing”. Elizaveta moved to Brussels in 2016. She is Russian and she can speak Russian, English, French, Dutch and Spanish

David Twomey – Consultant

David joined CLERENS in 2023 as a Communications Consultant. He has worked in a variety of communications and marketing roles in Brussels over the past 5 years. He has extensive experience in delivering targeted messages to a desired target audience and is passionate about crafting engaging and memorable communications. He will bring his creative mindset along with his skills in SEO, copywriting, social media and project management to CLERENS.

David holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from Technology University Dublin. He is a native English Speaker and also speaks French and Spanish at a high level.

Valentina Ferrara –  Communications Manager

Valentina joined CLERENS in 2021 as a communications consultant. Wth more than 10 years experience in communications, she can support organisation with campaign creations, social media management and branding. As a true communication nerd, she is not intimidated by the continuous evolution of communications tools, quite the opposite: she likes to keep updated with emerging trends.

Valentina holds a degree in Communications Sciences from Università Degli Studi di Milano and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs from Università di Bologna. She is Italian and speaks English and French.

Daniela Berretta – Consultant

Daniela joined CLERENS in 2024, following a career as an international journalist. In her role as Communications Consultant, she is now tapping into her previous experience (and adventures) to promote Waste-to-Energy technologies.

Daniela holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science/International Relations from the University of Perugia; she also studied Middle Eastern politics, history and languages at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

A dual Italian-US citizen, Daniela speaks English, Italian, French as well as basic Arabic and Hebrew.

Pauline Mayet – Consultant

Pauline has joined CLERENS as an Event Consultant in February 2025. She recently worked for a French think tank in the field of Geopolitics and previously organised the event programming for the French Embassy in Luxemburg.

She studied Literature and Public Affairs in France and holds a Master’s degree in Political Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Pauline is a French native speaker, she also speaks English, German and has notions of Finnish.

Letizia Pacato – Junior Consultant

Letizia is a junior consultant with a growing expertise in organising international events. Before joining CLERENS, she gained hands-on experience managing communication and logistics for cultural events in Parma, collaborating with partners to promote art and literature across the city.

A native Italian speaker, Letizia is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. She holds a degree in languages from Verona University and a Master’s in Journalism and Communication from the University of Parma.

Silvia Williams –  Events Manager

Silvia joined CLERENS in January 2023 after having built a strong experience in communication and events management worldwide and in both private and public sectors, for companies as well as associations. She masters all types of events, in person, hybrid and virtual. Her work experience made her comfortable with cooperating with EU Institutions and on technical issues/products, also in RD&I domain, with a customer-oriented approach. 

Silvia holds a Master Degree in International Management from the University of Bologna. Moreover, she acquired the Prince2 certification in Project Management. She is Italian and has lived in several cities outside her home country, such as London, Dublin, Sydney, before choosing Brussels has her home. You can approach Silvia in Italian, English, French, and Spanish.

Greta Bitante – Consultant

Greta  is a dynamic event officer known for organising impactful events and managing associations efficiently. With expertise in events strategy, communication, association management and strong project management skills, she excels in event organisation and execution.

Greta is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and French. She studied languages at Verona University and holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Communication from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels.

Virginia Petetti – Consultant

Virginia holds a BA degree in Social Sciences with a specialisation in Media Culture and a Masters degree in Globalisation and Development Studies.
She has gained experience in communications working for international organizations in the environmental field and in the renewable energy sector. She enjoys digital communication and creating strategies and content for social media campaigns. She has sound experience in organizing events and advertising them to the public.
Virginia is Italian-Dutch, she grew up in Italy and moved to the Netherlands for her university studies. She speaks 5 languages fluently; she is currently busy learning her 6th language: French. In her free time, she likes to photograph ( she is member of a photography club in Brussels) , she enjoys traveling, running and meeting friends.

Paolo Nouvion – Senior Consultant

Paolo is a Senior Communications consultant and joined CLERENS in 2018. Graduated in Journalism and Political Science, Paolo has a longstanding and multifaceted experience in communications, ranging from media relationships to communications of EU projects, from association promotion to events management. He’s always keen on diving into new topics to improve his knowledge and diversify his tasks.

He has been living in Brussels since 2016, where he likes the multiple opportunities and the thriving cultural life. Paolo is Italian and speaks English and French.

Elina Cirule – Consultant

Elina joined the CLERENS Project team in 2020 and worked with the management of 3 EU-funded projects on energy transition in research, innovation and technology. With the experience of managing communication activities at the European project level, Elina is currently involved in activities of the Communication and Events team.

Before joining CLERENS, Elina obtained a Bachelor’s degree of Social Science in European Studies and a Master’s degree of Social Science in Comparative Public Policy and Welfare studies in Denmark. She is from Latvia and speaks English and German.

Ramon Tari Dura- Consultant

Ramon Tari Dura joined CLERENS in 2024 as a Communication Consultant. With a background in communication and marketing from a Brussels media company, he is now involved in internal communications and events activities for the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE).

Ramon studied Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Alicante and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Journalism and Digital Communications at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. He is Spanish and speaks Catalan, English, and has a basic knowledge of French.

Stefani Krečar – EU Project Operations Manager

Stefani is an experienced project manager specialising in environment and energy initiatives, with nearly 8 years of expertise in securing and managing various funding programmes. She has a proven track record of closing the finance gap for sustainable projects by leveraging opportunities through EU funding mechanisms, such as Horizon Europe and Interreg.

Holding a degree in Economics and a professional certification in Financing Renewables from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, she combines financial expertise with a passion for advancing impactful environmental initiatives. She is fluent in Serbian and English.

Lucia Sardone – Consultant

Lucia is a Junior Consultant currently working on three EU-funded projects on battery research and innovation and energy storage, also supporting the project management team with proposal writing.

Before joining CLERENS as an Assistant Project in May 2021, Lucia worked as an intern for the Italian Embassy in Zagreb; then, she did a volunteering project about renewable and sustainable energy in Finland. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Milan and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Law from the University of Bari.

Lucia is Italian and speaks English and a bit of Spanish and French.

Martin Bracken – EU Funding Development Manager

Passionate about the energy transition and eager to learn of the pivotal role of European industry in it, Martin joined CLERENS in 2020.

Martin has an academic background in Chemistry at King’s College London and finished his degree with a thesis on carbon capture and utilisation (CCU). Since joining CLERENS, he has participated in various areas of the consultancy such as supporting advocacy on policies related to waste management, renewable energy and CCUS, supporting EU-funded projects on Smart Grids (ETIP SNET, BRIDGE) and developing project proposals for the EU ETS Innovation Fund. He is Irish and Spanish but was born and raised in Belgium. He is trilingual in English, Spanish and French, and has conversational Dutch and Italian at his disposal.

Federico Spadaro – Consultant

Federico works on project management and proposal development.

Before joining CLERENS in April 2023, as a Project Assistant, Federico worked in Rome as a consultant for Ministries and public entities.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Finance and a Master of Science in Management for Public and International Organizations, both from Bocconi University (Milan). He currently speaks Italian, English and Spanish, with some knowledge of French.

Maria Mazuera – Senior Consultant (Energy Engineer)

Maria joined the Project Management Team in 2023 as an Energy Engineer Consultant to work in the proposal creation of Horizon Europe projects. She is a mechatronic engineer and obtained a Master Degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from KTH and Politecnico di Torino. In the past, she has worked as a coordinator developing energy efficiency projects for the retail and industrial sector. She is passionate about contributing to the energy transition and the decarbonization of the environment.

Maria enjoys reading, traveling, and a good cup of coffee. She is from Colombia and speaks English and a bit of Italian.

Dumitrita Nistorica – Junior Consultant

Dumitrita joined CLERENS in 2023 as Project Assistant and since then she has been working on EU funded projects proposal development and project management daily activities, as well as drafting high-level technology status and market reports on energy storage technologies.

She is a passionate environmental economist and sustainability advocate. With a strong academic background in Economic Development and International Cooperation, she’s honed her skills as an MSc graduate in Environmental Economics and Sustainability. She’s been diving headfirst into the world of sustainability as a Research Fellow at the University of Siena. There, she had the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of a prestigious EU Horizon 2020 boosting sustainability in the building sector.

She is Italian and Moldovan. Besides her mother tongues, she speaks English, French, Spanish and a few words of Russian.

Marina Coloma Arenas –  Consultant

Marina Coloma is a Consultant at CLERENS, specialising in EU-funded projects. She ahs experience in EU project development, focusing on Horizon Europe, CEF, Eurostars and LIFE programs.

Marina holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Valencia, as well as a qualification in European Banking Law from the University of Valencia.

Marina is Spanish and speaks English and Catalan, and a bit of French.
